Once the Dream Begins

I’m reading Pleasure Dome, by Yusef Komunyakaa. I found this one especially moving. Once the Dream Begins I wish the bell saved you.     “Float like a butterfly    & sting like a bee.”   Too bad you didn’t     learn to disappear    before a left jab.   Fighting your way out of a clench,     [...]

I am the type of person who both loves and fears nostalgia. I back up all my photos and music to another hard drive, along with Dropbox, and I am a packrat-like [...]

Flush And Fill With Light

Elizabeth Bishop is amazing. One more by her before I force myself to move on. The Armadillo           by Elizabeth Bishop For Robert Lowell This is the time of year when almost every night the frail, illegal fire balloons appear. Climbing the mountain height, rising toward a saint still honored in [...]

How do we affect the future?

Regardless, despite & because.
